| OK, lets face it. When times are a bit tough the tough get
going, so I depend on the things that I do well to subsidize my income. First: I have been designing and hosting web sites for
small business for 15 years.
This site is a small example of what I can do.
I charge $750.00 for a 5-10 page website and it includes the first year of
hosting and modifications (within reason.)
Larger sites are quoted but will usually start at about
$1,000.00.
Second: Vehicle Transportation.
I used to own a medium size limousine company and have thousands of miles
under my belt with no accidents. The fee is simple. You pay the airfare and
transportation to and from my home. You pay fuel costs ( usually use
mapquest to calculate the cost).
I pay for my own meals. If there is an over night you
cover the costs of the lodging.
I tend to drive 8 hours on, 4 hrs rest, then another shift
of 8 and 4. This seems to work out well as I am not drained. The 4 hours
rest usually is in the front seat taking a long nap. If I have to do a third
4 hour rest I check into an inexpensive lodge and sleep, take a fresh shower
and off I go. Your property is important to me and so is my health.
For my services, I charge a flat $150.00 per day (24 hrs.)
As a rule a trip from Miami area to New England is a 25 hour drive time. Or
1.7 days. I like to drive at night so I can avoid the traffic therefore
timing is crucial in large metro areas and I do my best to avoid these
areas.
Mapquest example from Miami to Hartford, CT.
Estimated Time: 22 hours 29 minutes Estimated Distance: 1397.77 miles
At 70 mph, this actually calculates out to 20 hrs drive but for all
practical purposes 55 mph should be used which takes into consideration pit
stops etc... so 1400 mile / 55 = 25.45 hours / 8 = 3.1 8hr sifts. This
would indicate an overnight. If my energy level is good I may push for 10
hours and 2 hours rest. All depends, things like heavy rain, heavy traffic
tend to wear you out a little bit more. But if the sail is full we keep
going.
FUEL Calculation with a vehicle that gets 20 mpg. 1400
miles / 20 = 70 gallons X $2.15 (or avg fuel price) = $150.00.
So there you have it. The other things I can do. Not to
mention Personal Security. yes, a bodyguard. Being a Blackbelt and having
spent 14 years in Special Operations in the military more than qualifies me
to take a bullet for you, but I would rather keep you out of harms way then
get shot again. It hurts....
